CPU Pin Repair Service – What does the repair cost and how does it work?
When your PC won't start because the processor is acting up, bent or kinked CPU pins are no longer a problem from now on. Maybe the CPU was pulled out together with the cooler, a single pin snapped off, or several pins on the processor look skewed and crooked. Before considering a replacement: in almost all cases the damage can be fixed. We provide a professional CPU repair service from Germany and have been accepting jobs from across Europe since 2015 – mail-in CPU pin repair EU-wide is everyday business for us.
The cost of CPU pin repair depends on the damage: just slightly bent pins are cheaper than several broken or even missing "gold prongs" as some call them. Whether your processor only needs to be straightened, a single torn-off pin replaced, or a more extensive repair is required – the configurator shows you the price transparently before every order. So you know exactly what the repair of your processor costs in advance, no surprises.
The damage scenarios we regularly fix: individual CPU pins broken or kinked, several rows crooked after improper installation or because the CPU was dropped, which never looks pretty either, stuck coolers also cause a pin disaster. Even if you're unsure whether the damage is still repairable, just send us a sharp photo via the configurator or to kontakt@reusing-factory.de – we give you honest feedback on whether a repair is worthwhile.
The process is simple: send in your CPU for pin repair, we straighten or replace the affected pins under the microscope, then clean the processor and run a function test. You receive your repaired AMD Ryzen or AM3+ processor back via DHL with tracking. A repaired CPU not only saves money compared to buying new, but also valuable resources – sustainability matters to us.
Frequently asked questions
Can broken, cracked or bent CPU pins really be replaced or repaired?
Yes. We straighten bent pins under the microscope and replace broken, cracked or missing pins with original gold pins – even when the damage isn't just at the edge but in the centre of the pin array.
What does a CPU pin repair cost?
From €39 for bent pins; the price rises with the damage – several broken pins or previous DIY attempts cost accordingly more. You see the exact price in the configurator before you order, with no hidden costs.
How long does the repair take and how do I get my CPU back?
Turnaround is 3–6 working days from arrival, or 1–2 working days with VIP Express. After that we ship it back via DHL with tracking. Return shipping is already paid for at checkout.
Which processors and sockets do you repair?
AMD Ryzen on socket AM4 (Ryzen 5/7/9 of the 3000 and 5000 series including X3D) and AMD FX on socket AM3+. On modern Intel and AMD AM5 CPUs the pins sit in the motherboard – that's covered by our motherboard socket service.
Is my CPU tested after the repair?
Yes. Every CPU goes through a cleaning and a functional test after the repair – both are included in the price.
Is a repair worth it compared to buying new?
In the vast majority of cases, yes – our service usually costs less than the used-market value of the CPU. For very old models where the repair would exceed the market value, we tell you honestly in advance.
Motherboard CPU Socket Repair – What does the repair cost and when is it worthwhile?
Your motherboard no longer boots, no picture on the monitor, no POST, and you suspect bent or broken socket pins as the cause? A defective motherboard socket is annoying, but rarely a total loss. With our motherboard CPU socket replacement and repair service you receive your board fully restored in most cases – of course including a function test.
What the motherboard socket repair costs, you see transparently before your order in the configurator. The price depends on the socket type – an LGA 1151 or LGA 1200 is cheaper than an LGA 2011 or LGA 2066, simply because the effort is generally higher with larger CPU sockets. An AM5 or OC socket also requires somewhat more effort. You have full price transparency at all times before sending in your motherboard.
Have your motherboard CPU socket pins straightened or the entire socket replaced – we offer both. If only a few pins are bent and can be brought back into position without risk of breaking, so that a clean visual result is also guaranteed, we prefer this gentler option for the motherboard. For a more severely damaged socket or several broken pins, we replace the entire CPU socket with a brand-new one. We offer both Intel socket repair (LGA 1151 through LGA 2066) and repair of AMD motherboard socket defects (AM5), brand-independent for ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock and Supermicro.
The process is straightforward: send in your motherboard for socket repair (on request we also handle disassembly for an additional fee), we repair or replace the socket, test functionality with a test CPU and ship your board back via DHL with tracking. If you're unsure whether repair of your specific damage is feasible – just send us a sharp photo in advance. We give you honest feedback and thus avoid unnecessary shipping costs.
Frequently asked questions
Can a damaged CPU socket on the motherboard be repaired?
Yes. We straighten bent socket pins under the microscope; if the damage is more severe, we replace the entire socket with a brand-new one.
What does a motherboard CPU socket repair cost?
Between €99 and €139 depending on the socket type – an LGA 1151/1200 is cheaper than an LGA 2011/2066 or AM5. You see the exact price in the configurator before ordering.
My motherboard shows no picture / no POST – can the socket be the cause?
Bent or broken pins in the CPU socket can prevent the system from starting – often a RAM channel drops out as a result. As a rule: if the socket is damaged, it usually affects the motherboard's function.
Do I have to disassemble my motherboard first?
No. On request we take care of the proper disassembly and reassembly for €29.
Is my motherboard tested after the repair?
Yes, provided a matching test CPU is available – we have one for all common sockets. You're also welcome to include your own processor.
Do you also repair PCI-E slots or other damage?
PCI-E slots are doable but time-consuming – whether it's worth it depends on the board's used value. Send us a request with a photo via our Soldering & PCB Trace Service and we'll sort it out individually.
Soldering & PCB Trace Repair – Micro-Soldering on Circuit Boards: What We Offer and How It Works
A scratched PCB trace, a loose connector or a damaged SMD component does not mean the hardware has to be thrown away. Our Soldering & PCB Trace Repair service focuses on precise, mechanical circuit board repair and micro-soldering of visible damage at component level. We deliberately do not offer time-consuming electronic fault finding or schematic diagnosis. Our service is aimed at customers who already know which component is defective or where a clear physical defect exists. We carry out high-precision micro-soldering work under the microscope to professionally replace damaged components.
Our service is ideal for motherboards, graphics cards, consoles, control boards and retro hardware. We handle SMD and PCB trace repair as well as connector replacement – whether USB port repair, HDMI connector replacement or parts on gaming consoles (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox). Replacing defective SMD LEDs and reliable capacitor replacement (recapping) are also part of our work. We can also repair mechanical damage on graphics cards (GPUs), provided it is not a case of graphical artefacts or black screens.
Every PCB repair is carried out as a high-precision microscope repair. To reliably reconnect severed traces, we use ultra-fine enamelled copper wire (jumper wire). Such a bypass fully restores the electrical function but does not produce an optically flawless original appearance – honest craftsmanship instead of false promises.
The process: send us an enquiry with a sharp photo of the damage. You will receive a fair fixed-price offer and ship us the device after a deposit of €29 (plus return shipping). You only pay the remaining amount upon successful repair. We do not offer repairs on 230V mains devices, battery-powered devices (e-scooters, drones), automotive ECUs or BGA reballing.
Frequently asked questions
What does a soldering or PCB trace repair cost?
We quote the fixed price after we've seen your photos. Up front there's only a deposit of €29 + return shipping; you pay the balance only after a successful repair.
What exactly do you solder?
Mechanical board-level repair under the microscope: bridging severed PCB traces, swapping connectors (USB, HDMI, jack), replacing SMD components and capacitors (recapping) – on motherboards, graphics cards, consoles (Switch, PlayStation, Xbox) and retro hardware.
What happens if the repair fails?
Then we keep only the €29 deposit + return shipping for the work involved and send your device back straight away. That, however, is the rare exception.
Will a PCB trace repair look like new?
No. We bridge severed traces with ultra-thin enamelled copper wire (jumper wire). That reliably restores function but stays visible – honest craftsmanship instead of false promises. We do, however, seal the finished result.
Which devices do you not repair?
No 230 V mains-powered devices, no battery-powered devices, no BGA reballing, no pure schematic diagnosis without a visible defect, no drones, e-scooters, car control units, medical equipment, lifts or smoke detectors.
How does a soldering or trace repair request work?
You send us photos and a description of the damage, we name a fixed price. Once you accept, you pay the €29 deposit + return shipping and send the device in; you pay the balance only after a successful repair.
Sell Defective Hardware Instead of Disposing – Hardware Buyback in Germany and EU-wide
Want to get rid of a broken graphics card, CPU or defective motherboard taking up space in your drawer? Instead of dropping off broken PC parts at recycling or disposing of them as electronic scrap, you can turn broken hardware into cash with us. We offer hardware buyback in Germany and EU-wide – we usually answer enquiries the same business day.
Particularly in demand: defective GPUs, buying NVIDIA models (RTX 3060 through 5090, including Ti variants) and defective Radeon graphics card buyback (RX 6700 through 7900 XT), externally damaged but not internally defective Intel and AMD processors (also with bent or missing pins), broken motherboards with socket damage or burnt-out voltage regulators, and defective server hardware. Buying from Xeon Gold/Platinum to EPYC and Threadripper.
The advantage over classifieds or eBay: no complaints, no follow-up questions, no debate over every scratch. If you want to sell defective hardware, send us a few good photos and a brief description together with your asking price via our configurator – either we agree or we calculate a fair counter-offer on this basis, which we won't reduce after your shipment arrives either. You can bundle several parts in one package, minimising your effort. An uncomplicated matter.
What we probably don't buy: RAM modules, power supplies, cases, hard drives, optical drives and individual complete PCs (except in larger uniform batches). We're simply not a recycling business for pure scrap devices, but for still-valuable defective components we're your contact. Even if you're unsure whether an enquiry is worthwhile for your part: a brief request via our configurator with photo and asking price – we respond promptly.
Frequently asked questions
Do you also buy defective or physically damaged hardware?
Yes – especially that. We buy graphics cards, motherboards and CPUs even with a broken PCB, torn-off pins or burnt-out VRMs. What other buyers turn down is interesting to us, because we can usually repair it.
How quickly do I get an offer and my money?
We usually reply to your request the same working day. Once the hardware arrives and is checked, we pay within 48 hours via PayPal or bank transfer.
Why shouldn't I just sell on a marketplace like eBay or classifieds?
Because with us there are no complaints, no follow-up questions and no haggling over every scratch. You send several parts bundled in one parcel – without losing time and nerves on individual sales.
How do you determine the purchase price?
Transparently, based on three factors: the current used-market value in working condition, the repair effort and failure risk, and the resale prospects of the model. That results in a fair offer for both sides.
Which hardware do you not buy?
As a rule no RAM, power supplies, cases, drives or single complete PCs (complete PCs only in larger, like-for-like batches). Parts older than around 5 years are usually no longer of interest either – but asking costs nothing.
Do you also buy larger quantities or whole batches?
Yes. We're happy to buy several identical parts or complete like-for-like batches (e.g. multiple graphics cards or boards). Just send us a list with photos.

Mein defektes Mainboard kam innerhalb weniger Tage repariert zurück. Läuft wieder einwandfrei! Super Arbeit!
I sent my defective and rare Ryzen 5700X3D after hard pin twisted. I tried to fix it myself. Bad idea, stop immediately. It took time and extra cost but recovered it close as new with some damaged pins replaced and it's impressive. Thank you!
